A health care company in the Quad Cities is looking to fill 25 positions, and you'll get your chance at them Tuesday.
UnityPoint Health - Trinity in Bettendorf will hold a job fair that focuses on entry level positions like a janitor or food prep assistant. The openings are for work at campuses and clinics on both sides of the Mississippi River here in the Quad Cities. There will also be interviews for positions in UnityPoint Health - Trinity's Muscatine location.
A growing need for workers has UnityPoint Health - Trinity in Rock Island looking for people to do the small things, like filling food trays.
"We've definitely noticed that the unemployment rate has gone down so our applicant pool has gone down quite a bit,” said Samantha Widener, UnityPoint Health – Trinity Recruitment Specialist.
Of the 25 openings, about half are full time jobs, with the rest just part time work. Either way, a college degree isn’t something to need to be considered.
"Some of our positions actually don't require any formal education at all and others would just require a minimum of a GED or high school diploma," Widener added.
What you will need is simple.
"We are looking for good work history, good customer service skills, and a positive attitude," said Michelle Laxton, UnityPoint Health – Trinity Recruitment Specialist.
These are the types of jobs that can get you in the door and on the way to a better life.
"We still need somebody to clean that patient’s room. We still need someone to deliver that food to that patient. So even if you aren't interested in doing direct patient care, you're still caring for patients just in a different way."
The job fair runs from 4 until 7 Tuesday night in the cafeteria of Trinity Bettendorf. Applicants should ring a resume and some references.
